Better Business Bureau Florida

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of Better Business Bureaus. Better business bureaus (or BBBs for short) are professional organizations, that protect consumers against scams fraudulent and deceptive business practices. These include those used in advertising and sales. But should we always trust BBBs? Apparently, we should be even more careful before applying for their services, and there is a reason behind this.

You should always be careful not to fall a victim of some of the sites, that offer bogus Better Business Bureau services, to gain trust, or give bogus BBB invoices when someone is pursuing some items. Things like: cars, motorcycles, boats, jet skis and similar items that are advertised on auction, classifieds sites and other Websites. Sites where such items were allegedly listed, include: eBay, Craigslist, Motorcycletrader.com and Carbuyer.com.

Recently, a consumer in Florida reported being told to use and pay for a "BBB Auto Buyers Protection Program." This got him and everyone very mad, especially because of the increase of such incidents in the state of Florida recently.

The fraudulent activity has been reported to several law enforcement authorities. They have also taken steps to prevent other consumers from being victimized by demanding that the individuals involved, at mean time, cease and desist from using the BBB name to pursue their extortion programs and schemes.

Therefore, customers are advised to take note of the following:

*The BBB does not operate a "Better Business Bureau Insurance Service", and it doesn't offer a "BBB Auto Buyers Protection Program"
*The BBB is not a ‘preferred insurance service provider’ for sites like E-Bay or any other entity
*The BBB doesn't manage or has anything to do with financial transactions of online merchants; and
*The BBB doesn't issue profiles or reports on individuals; Only businesses are reported by the BBB.
